Fork Finder is an independent open-source utility that helps developers find the most active public forks of any GitHub repository. No login required, no personal data stored.
GitHub sorts forks by creation date or star count — not by recent activity. This means a repository with thousands of forks may have its most actively maintained fork buried on page 10. Fork Finder automates the process of ranking every public fork by real activity signals: recent commits, push dates, stars, open issues, and health score.
Fork Finder is not affiliated with GitHub Inc. It uses GitHub's public REST API with no authentication required for searching. No personal data is collected or stored. The project is open source.
